Terms of Service

Version 1.1 · Effective 2026-10-06

Who these terms apply to

These terms govern your use of Institute Console ("Institute Console"), including the web application at app.instituteconsole.com and the Institute Console mobile app. Institute Console is provided by DEXDEVS (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED, Pakistan ("DEXDEVS", "we", "us").

Institute Console is provided to educational Institutes ("Institutes") under a separate subscription agreement. If you are a member of staff, a teacher, a driver, a parent, a guardian or a student, your account was created by an Institute, and these terms apply to your use of it. If anything in the Institute's subscription agreement conflicts with these terms, the subscription agreement governs the relationship between DEXDEVS and that Institute.

By signing in, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Institute Console. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian should read these terms with you.

Your account

  • Keep your password and any one-time codes secret, and do not let anyone else use your account.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account until you tell us or your Institute that it may have been compromised.
  • Use two-factor authentication where your Institute offers it, and keep your device's screen lock enabled if you use biometric unlock.
  • Accounts are personal. Staff accounts are given to individuals, not shared desks or roles.
  • After 5 failed sign-in attempts your account is locked for 15 minutes to protect it.
  • Your Institute controls your access. It can change your role, suspend your account or deactivate it, for example when you leave.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • access, or try to access, data you are not authorised to see, including another Institute's data or another family's records;
  • probe, scan or test the security of Institute Console except as allowed by our Security and responsible disclosure statement;
  • upload malware, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • use Institute Console to bully, threaten or harass any person, in particular a child;
  • record, copy or publish other people's personal data from Institute Console beyond what your role requires;
  • impersonate another person, or misrepresent your relationship to a student;
  • overload, disrupt, reverse engineer or scrape the service, or bypass usage limits; or
  • use Institute Console to send unsolicited marketing.

We may suspend access that breaches these rules or that puts the service, an Institute or a person at risk. Where possible we will act through the Institute and tell you why.

Institute responsibilities

Each Institute, as the data controller for its records, is responsible for:

  • having a lawful basis for the personal data it enters into Institute Console, including any consent needed from parents or guardians for students;
  • giving its students, families and staff appropriate privacy information;
  • deciding who in the Institute has which role and permissions, and reviewing that access;
  • the accuracy of the records it keeps, including fee amounts, results and attendance;
  • reviewing and deciding data-subject requests raised through Institute Console, such as deletion requests; and
  • the third-party providers it chooses to connect, such as SMS, WhatsApp, email or payment providers.

DEXDEVS processes Institute records only on the Institute's instructions, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Who may use Institute Console

Accounts are created by an Institute for its own staff, students, parents and guardians. You may use Institute Console only if your Institute has given you an account and you are allowed to use it under the law that applies to you. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should read these terms with you, and your Institute is responsible for any consent the law requires for your account. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.

Your content

You keep any rights you have in content you submit, such as messages, documents, lesson material and voice notes. You give the Institute and DEXDEVS the permission needed to store, display and process that content to provide Institute Console. Content you share with your Institute is subject to the Institute's own policies.

Our intellectual property

Institute Console, including its software, design, documentation and trademarks, belongs to DEXDEVS or its licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use Institute Console for its intended purpose while your account is active. You may not copy, modify, sell or create derivative works of Institute Console except as the law expressly allows.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Institute Console available and secure, and we take regular encrypted backups. Institute Console may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control, such as network or provider outages. We may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what an Institute has paid for, the subscription agreement applies.

Fee amounts, results, attendance and other records are produced from the information Institutes enter. Payments to an Institute are made to that Institute; DEXDEVS is not a party to them unless stated.

Third-party services and app stores

Institute Console shows maps and sends notifications using third-party services such as Google Maps and Firebase, and the mobile app is distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store. Those providers' own terms apply to their services. Google and Apple are not parties to these terms and have no duty to provide support or maintenance for Institute Console.

Disclaimers

Except as stated in these terms or in an Institute's subscription agreement, Institute Console is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not give warranties that Institute Console will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet every particular need. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, DEXDEVS is not liable to users for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profit, arising from use of Institute Console. Our total liability to an Institute is as set out in its subscription agreement. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using Institute Console at any time and can request deletion of your account as described on our Account and data deletion page. Your Institute can deactivate your account. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or where the law requires. When an Institute's subscription ends, its data is handled as agreed in the subscription agreement and our Privacy Policy.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern informally. If we cannot, the dispute will be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration Act, 1940, before a sole arbitrator, seated in Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan, and conducted in English. The courts of Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan have jurisdiction to support and enforce that arbitration. None of this affects any mandatory right you have to bring a claim in the courts where you live.

General

  • Entire agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy and an Institute's subscription agreement are the whole agreement about your use of Institute Console and replace earlier understandings about it.
  • If part is unenforceable. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in force.
  • No waiver. Not enforcing a right straight away does not mean we give it up.
  • Events beyond our control. Neither side is responsible for a failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, such as natural disaster, power or network failure, or action of a government.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor of the business, subject to the Privacy Policy.
  • Language. If these terms are translated, the English version prevails if the two differ.
  • Notices. We may give notice by publishing it on this page, in the app, or to the email address on your account.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with a new version number and effective date, and give notice in the app for material changes. Continuing to use Institute Console after a change takes effect means you accept it.
