When an Institute uses Institute Console, DEXDEVS (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED acts as its service provider (processor) and uses the sub-processors below to run the service. Each is bound by a written agreement that requires it to protect the data, use it only to provide its service to us, and delete or return it when the service ends.
Current sub-processors
- Hosting provider (virtual private server). Hosts the application, database and file storage. Processes all data held in Institute Console. The data-centre location is available on request from privacy@instituteconsole.com.
- Cloudflare. Network protection, encryption of traffic (TLS) and content delivery. Sees requests and IP addresses as traffic passes through. Global network.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Delivers push notifications to Android and iOS devices. Receives a device notification token and the notification text. United States and global.
- Google Maps. Displays maps for school-transport features. Receives the technical details of the map request, such as IP address and device information. United States and global.
- Encrypted backup storage provider. Stores encrypted off-site copies of backups for disaster recovery. Receives only encrypted data.
- Error monitoring service. Receives server error reports configured not to include personal data by default.
- AI model provider (Anthropic). Used only for AI-assisted features that an Institute has switched on. Receives the content needed to answer the request.
Providers chosen by an Institute
An Institute may connect its own SMS, WhatsApp, email or payment providers. Those act for the Institute under the Institute's own agreement with them and are not our sub-processors.
Changes
We will update this page before adding or replacing a sub-processor that processes personal data of an Institute, and give Institutes notice as set out in our Data Processing Addendum. An Institute may object on reasonable data-protection grounds.
